Biography: Dave is Hurley's imaginary friend. Hurley created Dave while he was a patient at the Santa Rosa Mental Health Institute.

Who He Is: Hurley's imaginary friend at the Santa Rosa Mental Health Institute.
In Flashbacks: Dave does not exist in real life, but was an imaginary friend of Hurley. At the mental hospital, Dave was always telling Hurley what to do, and what not to do. Hurley's doctor, Dr. Brooks, says that Dave is having a bad influence on Hurley, and that he must stop listening to what Dave says. Dave tries to convince Hurley to escape the hospital, but Hurley locks him out and stays at the hospital. Dr. Brooks took a picture of Hurley and Dave together, and when he showed Hurley the picture, Dave was not there.
On the Island: Dave appears when the survivors discover the food supply drop. He chased after him, and found a slipper that fell off of Dave. He throws a Dave and Hurley at the Cliffcoconut at Hurley. He says that everything that is happening is in his imagination, and that he is still at the hospital, and not on an island. he says that Hurley can escape the dream if he jumps off a cliff. Dave then jumps off the cliff and plunges into the ocean below. Hurley thought about jumping, but Libby came and stopped him. Libby also said that she never saw him holding a slipper.


THEORIES
Libby was married and widowed to a man named David. Is there any possible connection?
