Charlotte was born in Essex England, and was raised in Bromsgrove. She did her undergraduate studies in Kent, and received here Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology at Oxford University.

Who she is now:
Charlotte over the riverCharlotte arrived on the Island by parachute, and was caught in a tree over a river. She was able to free herself, and fell into the river. Soon after, she was found by Locke's group.

Locke captured her, and she was surprised to hear that the survivors did not want to get rescued. Her GPS tracking device was placed on Vincent, who was later found by Jack.

Charlotte tried to leave the group when Frank fired a flare gun. She was then shot by Ben. She survived, because she was wearing a bulletproof vest. Ben started to say everything he knew about her and her background.

She later does a card experiment with Daniel, which he guest two out of three correctly. Jack and Juliet ask why no one is picking up the phone. Charlotte phones the number only to be used in emergencies, and Regina picks it up. She says the survivors want to hear from the people on the helicopter, but Regina says the helicopter never came.

Jack kept on asking Charlotte why the helicopter had not arrived, but she always said she does not know. Daniel says that they should "tell them", but Charlotte says it would be too complicated. Daniel continues, and says the perception of time on the Island is different than what it really is.

Big secrets:
  • Discovered the Hydra logo on the polar bear at Tunisia.
  • She was born and raised on the island (confirmed in, This Place is Death)

Trivia:
  • Charlotte Staples Lewis has a very similar name to C.S. (Clive Staples) Lewis, an English author who wrote The Chronicles of Narnia. If Charlotte was born on the island (as implied in the Season 4 final episode) the similarity to the Narnia tales would be Lucy trying to return to Narnia.

maybe the polar bear is in the desert because when the island was moving, it left the remnants of the creature. This could have been the effect of a past island movement or the recent one except with spactime disturbance. what do you think?
