What we know...
Adam and Eve in the Caves - LOST Locke nicknames them.
Kate and Jack find two skeletons and Locke nicknames them Adam and Eve. He beat Sawyer to it!
Adam and Eve in the Caves - LOST They died in the 50s or 60s.
Jack said that it would take 40-50 years for their bodies to decompose to their current condition.
Adam and Eve in the Caves - LOST Two stones were found on them.
They were carrying one black and one white stone.
Adam and Eve in the Caves - LOST Jack hides the stones from Locke.
Jack takes the stones and when Locke asked Jack what he'd discovered, Jack doesn't tell him.

Adam and Eve in the Caves - LOST In 2007, Damon Lindel told EW this of Adam and Eve: "There were certain things we knew from the very beginning. Independent of ever knowing when the end was going to be, we knew what it was going to be, and we wanted to start setting it up as early as season 1... So the skeletons are the living — or, I guess, slowly decomposing — proof of that."
